Recreation at BMDSF

BMDSF has Twenty-six miles of unimproved roads, 14+ miles of non-motorized use trails and two campgrounds with 19 camp sites. NOTE: The roads and campgrounds may not be available after July 1, 2004 due to funding cuts. (see News and Events) Hunting is permitted on the Forest under applicable State game laws and regulations. BMDSF is used during the summer for mountain biking, hiking, target shooting, hunting, picnicking, woodcutting, bird watching, and horseback riding. During the August-September deer season, the property is heavily hunted, and occupied by numerous hunters' camps. This is also true of adjoining properties some of which are leased to hunting clubs.

On beautiful spring day
