About the Friends of Boggs Mountain

We Are a Non-Profit

The Friends of Boggs Mountain is a non-profit group that works closely with Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest (BMDSF), and acts as a liaison between the public and BMDSF regarding issues of access, volunteerism, recreation, and more.

Friends of Boggs Mountain was formed to enhance the visitor's experience at Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest. The Forest is located on Highway 175 near the town of Cobb.

The Friends of Boggs Mountain works closely with the State Forest staff

The Board of Directors meets quarterly at the Forest Office on Forestry Road, Cobb. Interested members of the public are invited to attend and volunteer. Current board members are drawn from a cross-section of recreational users of the forest - hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, bird watchers.  (Click here for next meeting)

Please know that the Friends of Boggs Mountain (FOBM) is open to all suggestions on how best to protect, enjoy and give back to this fascinating and complex 3,493-acre demonstration state forest. It is our intent to lay the groundwork now, so that as future recreational use of the forest expands, and the impacts increase, we will know we are doing all we can to protect the beauty and integrity of what we so enjoy today.
